What is Peering?
Peering is the direct interconnection between Internet Service Providers (ISPs) to exchange traffic without routing through third-party networks. BDIX (Bangladesh Internet Exchange) serves as a neutral peering point where local ISPs can connect and exchange traffic efficiently.
Benefits of BDIX Peering
- Reduced latency for local content access
- Higher bandwidth availability (often 100+ Mbps)
- Cost savings for ISPs (no international bandwidth charges)
- Improved network resilience and redundancy
How It Works
When you access a BDIX-peered server, your request stays within Bangladesh's network infrastructure. Your ISP routes the traffic directly to the destination server through the BDIX exchange point, avoiding expensive and slower international links.
